Chief turned 15 months old on Christmas Eve. He had a big month – he helped decorate the Christmas tree, unrolled all of the wrapping paper, and had a grand ol’ time in the mountains of Amazon boxes that flooded our living room. His new favorite thing just might be a roll of Scotch tape.
Baby Update:
Chief is weighing 26.2 pounds and stretching 32.5 inches. He’s in the 90-98th percentile for all his measurements. He’s a big boy with wide feet, a round belly, the squishiest thighs, and the best little gap-toothed smile.
During his 15th month…
He says “Boo!” – Chief will hide behind a door frame or duck down inside his kitchen tower, then when he thinks we’re not expecting it, he’ll pop out and exclaim “Boo!” It’s the best. The only thing that makes it better is if we act really scared – he thinks it’s HYSTERICAL.
He is non-stop talking over here. Most of the words are “boo,” “dog,” or “go.” Okay, maybe they’re all “dog”, but he’s trying his darnedest to make sentences.
He sprouted SO MANY Teeth. Chief started the month by sprouting his bottom two molars. He ended the month cutting three canines. We’re up to 15 teeth. I’m surprised the poor guy isn’t dehydrated by the buckets of drool he loses on a daily basis.
He snorts and it makes him squeal with excitement when he lets one out. He’ll spend 30 seconds or so breathing heavily with his nose scrunched and his lips puckered before he succeeds. It’s the greatest.
He is RUNNING. He’s so fast. The only way to slow him down is to put shoes on the boy. Leave him barefoot and it’s full speed ahead.
He can open doors. We learned this over Christmas when we found him in the garage a few times. If the door handle is a lever, he’ll get it open. I can’t blink around this kid.
He celebrated his second Christmas. We spent Christmas with my family in Chelsea, America. He visited family, met his two newest cousins, checked the cows, had a visit from Santa, and played with two dogs for 3 whole days – he was in heaven.
Mama Update
Chief is 100% a mama’s boy and I wouldn’t have it any other way. He’s no more than 5 feet from me at all times. He’s under my feet when I’m getting ready in the mornings, and on my hip when I’m in the kitchen.
Chief’s Christmas gift from Chase and I was a Little Partners Learning Tower for the kitchen. He LOVES it! It brings him up to counter height so he can see what’s going on, he stays close to Mom, and I usually give him a bowl and whisk to keep him busy. Best purchase we’ve made in a long time.
I finally feel like I’m in a groove where nothing is neglected. Chief gets my full attention 4.5 days a week, I get to go to 3-4 Crossfit classes per week, Chase plays basketball regularly, I cook often, and Chase and I find time to be together, just the two of us. The only thing I haven’t been able to bring back into the mix is regular blogging. I’m working on it…
