I’m back!!!! Sorry for the long hiatus, I really needed the last month to focus on myself. Doing too much has taken it’s toll and I’ve spent the last month re-evaluating my commitments and my schedule. My body is grateful. Here’s what I’ve been up to since I last filled you in:
Not Working Out. Yes, you are still reading the same blog. I am showing all the signs and symptoms of hormone imbalance and adrenal fatigue. When my doctor suggested it, I thought she was nuts. Turns out, she was right! I feel so great. Working out is my hobby, it’s how I relieve stress, and gosh, it was a hard one to give up. I will get back to it soon enough, but for now, I’m still in rest mode. I’m focusing on yoga and walking. LOTS of yoga.
Salt-n-Pepa. They hold a special place in my heart. I was introduced to them in 1993 when my Uncle Aaron gave me their “Very Necessary” CD. I would spend hours jamming that thing until I could rap right along beside them. It wasn’t until I was older that I actually understood the lyrics – YIKES! Salt n’ Pepa, you’re a little dirty. My sister Whitney and I went to see them at the Grand Casino in Shawnee, OK. Yes, they are now on the casino circuit, but they still got it!
Lake Days. Last weekend we were able to get in one more good lake day. It was beautiful!
It was father/daughter weekend and we made the most of it! We spent the day boating and the evening at a fancy 5 course wine dinner at Arrowhead Yacht Club. Naturally my favorite course was the filet mignon. I am my father’s daughter.
Holistic Health. Every friday I’ve been seeing an herbalist/acupuncturist. We’re doing a series of tests called Nutrition Response Testing. Every acupuncture point correlates with an organ, tissue, or function of the body. With Nutrition Response Testing they analyze these points to determine which ones are “off.” Based on the results the practitioner can tell what nutrients are lacking in order to bring everything back into its optimal state. I’ll do a full recap of this soon with my thoughts and feelings on holistic medicine.
OU Football. Whether at the stadium or on the couch, we are cheering on our Sooners every weekend!
Yoga Class Cut-Back. I’ve actually reduced my yoga teaching schedule slightly. I am no longer teaching my Tuesday at 7:30pm class at Climb Up. Again, trying to reduce some stress in my life. You can still catch me Monday at 7:30pm!
And that’s a wrap! My month in less than 450 words.
