Are you still Christmas shopping? This time of year I get asked ALL. THE. TIME. for recommendations on yoga mats, yoga gear, or other fitness related Christmas gifts. If you’re still looking for something for that wellness warrior in your life, I’ve made a collection of a few of my favorite things. These are the items I swear by, I use them on a DAILY basis. I hope they offer a little inspiration for your gift giving this year.
Yoga Mat
Lululemon – The Mat 5mm
The is my favorite hot yoga mat – BY FAR. It is the only mat I’ve found that doesn’t need a mat towel and it won’t slip in even the sweatiest of classes. The only downfall is, it smells. The first week of use it will smell like a big, rubber tire. Don’t worry, it will go away.
Manduka – Black Mat Pro
I love this mat for non-heated classes. This was the first “nice” yoga mat I purchased when I became a little more serious about my practice. The Black Mat Pro is the most comfortable and cushioned mat I’ve found to use on hard surfaces. While this mat works perfectly for non-heated classes, if I use it in a heated class I do need a towel in order to keep my hands in place.
Yoga Tights – Lululemon Wunder Under Pant
My favorite yoga to gym tight. There are other brands that I like strictly for yoga or strictly for the gym, but this tight is the only one I use to cross over.
If you’re looking for something at your local sporting goods store (Dicks, Academy, etc), I really like the brand lucy and also Under Armour. Under Armour has made a big push the last couple of seasons to really up their yoga gear game!
This little baby never leaves my side. It keeps my water cold for 24 hours and hot drinks hot for 12 hours. It works amazing in a hot yoga class or if you accidentally leave it in your car in the hot summer sun – the bottle might be hot, but your drink will be ice cold.
If I was going to be stranded on an island, this is the ONE thing I would take with me. As long as that island had electricity I suppose. This gift is a little pricey, but totally worth it! I’ve had mine for 3 years and not a day has gone by that I haven’t used it. I’m pretty sure it would liquify my cell phone. This blender makes green smoothies like a boss. Buy a refurbished Vitamix for $100-$150 savings!
Classes.
There’s nothing better than receiving yoga classes, a month at a gym, or private yoga/personal training session. I’m a little biased but JAIA yoga class packs or a month to Climb Up would be the perfect gift. And they both have Groupons available right now! Check ’em out!
I also offer private yoga sessions. If you’re looking for something a bit more personal, contact me! I’d love to work with you! cassiebridgforth@gmail.com
Tis’ the season!
