Gal Pals Do Denver

September 2, 2015 by Cassie Leave a Comment

I’ve been home for 3 days and I’m still on a Rocky Mountain high! That sounds bad. I’m high on life, y’all. I get to see my friends from college once a year and I’m always a little sad the week after I get home. I’m so thankful I have them, but so sad I don’t get to see them regularly. They’re three in a million!

Girls Trip 2015We all arrived in Denver late Thursday night and checked into our hotel. We stayed at The Crawford Hotel inside Union Station. IT. WAS. AWESOME. We were right in the middle of everything!

Union Station

How cool is the inside of Union Station?!

If by chance we wanted to go somewhere that was a little too far to walk, we just took the hotel shuttle. Did I mention the shuttle was a Tesla?! As soon as we found out, we took that thing EVERYWHERE. (Sorry, Pierce!)

Great Diving Brewing Co.Ate dinner in Larimer Square…

Larimer SquareDid a quick day trip to Golden, Co.

Golden, CoAfter seeing some craft beer breweries, Coors was on a whole other level. The entire town of Golden smelled a little like malt.
Coors BreweryI think I can safely say the highlight of our weekend was Red Rocks! We bought tickets to Trampled by Turtles, Elephant Revival, and Shakey Graves the day before the concert. Best decision we made all weekend!

Red Rocks

We arrived at Red Rocks about two hours before the show so we could hike around and see everything before we made our way to our seats.

Red Rocks Red Rocks Red Rocks Red Rocks Red RocksHoly elevation. The hike was only about a mile and half, but whew! we were panting.

Red RocksRed Rocks is such a cool place. None of us had been before and we could not get over the grandeur of the amphitheater. I think we spent most of our time staring in awe at the rocks and the full moon. That place makes you feel so tiny.

If you’ve never been to Red Rocks, GO! It doesn’t matter who is playing, you’ll have a great time either way, but you gotta see it!

I’m so thankful I have that one weekend a year with my best friends. Things are just right when they’re around.

Union Station

Last picture before we left for the airport.

Here’s a quick recap of our favorite meals, things to do, etc.

To Stay

  • The Crawford Hotel. We can’t recommend it enough. It’s in the most perfect location ANNNDDD they drive you around in a Tesla. But don’t tell them we sent you – it will not earn you bonus points. We might have abused our Tesla privileges.

To Eat

  • Breakfast: Snooze or Syrup. Snooze is inside Union Station; we didn’t have to go far. Be prepared to wait 1 ½ to 2 hours at Snooze, so wake up, put your name on the list, and then get ready.
  • Dinner: Euclid Hall in Larimer Square. SOOOO good! We ate a little bit of everything: cheese plate, cauliflower salad, pad thai pig ears, chicken and waffles, BBQ pork chop, sausage tasting plate, and the S’mores Pot de Créme. Just go ahead and get it all.
  • Drinks: Rioja also in Larimer Square, get the loca hot. If you like hot, of course. The Terminal Bar in Union Station is fun and a brewery tour is a must. We did Great Divide Brewing Co., but just pick one and go!

To Do:

  • Red Rocks. Duh.

We’ve already started planning Girls Trip 2016! Can we just fast forward to this time next year, please?
