With the exception of a Sooner loss, we had a pretty solid weekend. I’ve never been so thankful to not be at an OU game – the worst home loss in the Stoop’s era, it made me Sic. (See what I did there?) I feel ya, Bob.
While the hubs made his way to Owen Field to watch the game, I stopped by a baby shower for one of my regular barre girls. Ericka has been coming to my class since I first started it – 2 years ago! This pretty mama is expecting twins in December!
I was literally at the shower 10 minutes before I had to make a mad dash to OKC. My blog was invited to the Natural Grocers grand opening luncheon on May Ave.
I’ve been shopping at Natural Grocers in Norman for about 2 years now, and it is hands down my favorite stop on my weekly multi-store shopping trip. Does anyone else do this? Have 3 stores on their weekly grocery run? It’s ridiculous, I tell ya.
Natural Grocers reminds me more a corner grocer, like the kind I grew up with in Chelsea, as opposed to a grocery chain. When I visit my local store a lot of them know me by name, are super helpful when it comes to picking supplements, and every one of them is knowledgable about the products they have in store.
Natural Grocers offers a health coach in every one of their stores that is available to customers FOR FREE. They teach in store classes, offer private coaching sessions, and offer store tours. For example, if you are going gluten free for medical or other reasons, the health coach can give you a store tour showcasing only gluten free items. Completely taking the aimless wandering out of your shopping – unless you’re in to that sort of thing.
They offer only organic produce, naturally raised meats, and naturally raised dairy. They are currently phasing out all products from confinement dairies to pasture raised, and will be finished with this process in 2015.
We have a few health food stores in Norman, and I’ve priced checked the items I buy regularly across all stores. 98.3457% of the time, Natural Grocers comes in cheapest. Sometimes it’s a few cents, sometimes it’s a couple of dollars, the most significant one I’ve found is my probiotic – $20 cheaper!!!
Now, we’re going to try something new here…
How about The Farmer’s Daughter’s very first giveaway!?
I’ve got a goodie bag full of Natural Grocers‘ products to send to some lucky duck. I thought about including a gift card, but I know a good chunk of my reader’s don’t have a Natural Grocers within reach (I’m talking to you, Lovington!), so I purchased a few of my favorite items.

Great post! I’m so excited for you that you got to attend the Grand Opening! Natural Grocers is the primary one of my 3 (sometimes 4!) grocery stops. I love them!

I usually go to 2 different groceries stores about once a week. Sprouts is opening soon in my town so will probably be adding another stop!
Ashley says
Love you and your blog!!
Erica says
One and done- I hate grocery shopping…
Sheri DeLozier says
You are the shopping winner in my book. I’m a one and done kind of mama bear. My commute was way to long to shop more than one store after work and make your girls activities.
Laurel Jaqua says
i go to at least 3 stores a week…. Sometime 4 or 5!!!!!

I would never miss out on a giveaway!! 🙂

I feel ya on the multiple grocery stores!! I have quite a few myself! You should totally do a post with Your shopping list and what groceries you buy on a weekly basis! Naturally grocers is so yummy and they people there are so friendly!:)

I love Natural Grocers and also shop at Sprouts and Crest in Norman. Have to have all three to get what I want at the right prices.

Generally a one and done gal. My options seem so limited living in such a small town that I just tend to stick to the same ole stuff every week, because it’s easy (and habit). But, I’ve always wanted to expand my food/health options!
Carrie says
As always your posts are spot on Cassie 🙂 I can never get all my goods at just one store either! Natural Grocers and Sprouts are both weekly stops, among a few other stores. What a lovely giveaway, and of course I get your posts by email and follow you on FB 🙂

As always I love your posts! Excellent blog, Cassie 🙂 I am always learning something new. I didn’t know that Natural Grocers offers private Coaching sessions and that’s a plus for me now that I have developed a health condition and I must watch what I eat. Thanks for sharing news and knowledge 🙂
Monica says
oops! I forgot to answer your question… Yes, we stop by 2-3 stores every week when doing grocery shopping 🙂
Barbara says
Very rarely I make it to two grocery stores. Usually it’s a one and done and on to the next thing 🙂
Jillian says
I shop at multiple stores during the week! It takes a lot of food to feed 12 kids and a husband 🙂
Rhonda Nance says
Yes, I visit multiple stores quite often. I have not shopped much at Natural Grocers but after reading your post, I am going to frequent there more often. I like the idea of the health coach and the in store classes. I would love to win your giveaway! Thanks for posting such great information.

Depends on the week..

I’ve been living mostly car free, so I make multiple small shopping trips per week (I can only fit so much in my bike trailer!)
When I do take the car out for a big shopping trip, I usually only go to one store. I make a monthly trip to NG to get things that I can’t find at my other grocery stores or the farmers’ makert (like unsweetened coconut flakes, organic salad dressing, etc.)

Cassie- Love this first giveaway! I’ve actually never tried Natural Grocers, but will totally try it now! Being in Stillwater, the options are very limited. So, I try and go to either Tulsa or Edmond every two weeks to Sprouts. Plus the weekly trip the Grocery Store here in town. Oh, and throw in Aldi every once in a while, depending on the sales they have. Wish I could be a one and done though 🙂
bonniebeth13 says
P.S. – I don’t have facebook, but I will totally share on my other social media…Twitter and Insta! 🙂
Kari J says
Yep! I hit 3 stores in Edmond!

Depending on the food I am shopping for I go to 3 different stores. Natural Grocers have an excellent selection and with coupons and sales at a great price. Love your giveaway package. Quest bars are just the best for on-the-go or a snack for the middle of the day. PB2 is amazing, when working at a health and fitness facility i used this for those strict on calories, it has a great taste and no one could tell the difference. I am very interested in the vega one protein shake. Being dairy sensitive, finding the right protein drink can be difficult to find especially with great taste.

I finally did it Cassie. Been meaning to “follow” this since you started. I’m such a procrastinator (sic?). GREAT blog. You make my life better!
Holli says
While it would be easier if I could just shopped at one store, we usually end up at a few each weekend. I almost always forget something, too.
Nicole says
I feel like I am ALWAYS food shopping! I tend to stop on my way home from work to pick up a thing or two at least a few days a week. And since my work takes me all over, it is rarely at the same store.

I’m usually a one and done shopper. Unless the store didn’t have something that I needed or wanted. 🙂
Amelya says
I have pretty limited options where I am, so usually one big one at one store and supplement at a more convenient one through the week!
Cherise says
During the winter months I’m a one and done shopper but in summer i enjoy going to a few different farmers markets and then one store for the basics.

Just went to NG today! Love it. And the staff is the best!

Love NG, but usually only go to one store a week!
