December was fun – we tried to do as many holiday activities as possible, made ornaments and garland, traveled to New Mexico, and even got our first taste of snow of the season.
We kicked off the month back at Oil & Clay studio – Chief’s new favorite place. This time we went in to make a custom piece for a Christmas gift – a flower pot for Honey!
Chief celebrated Christmas with his Gingerbread class. All the kids brought stocking stuffers, and I think Chief was more excited to GIVE gifts to “his kids” then to receive them. And I can’t get over his little signature.
We squeezed as much “holiday” into the holidays as possible – we put Christmas lights on our house (first time ever), dried oranges for ornaments and garland, decorated cookies and gingerbread houses, went to the Festival of Lights in Chickasha and Down’s Family Christmas here in Norman. We loved every minute of it.
We got our first snow of the season! It was such a happy day for our snow lovin’ boy.
We spent Christmas in New Mexico. It was a very quiet holiday – just the reset we all needed. Santa delivered on Chief’s request for “real tools,” but decided to wait a couple years on the “real chainsaw.”
I’m getting really terrible at writing down things he said…
- His response to almost anything when he’s unsure – “No idea.”
- He’s very particular about details and is quick to point out when we get it wrong. “Chief how’s your breakfast?!” “It’s yogurt, actually.” “Chief, put on your shoes.” “They’re actually boots, Mom.” All. day. long.
