Our Chief loves to be outside, loves to go camping, and loves spending time in the mountains. To honor all of Chief’s favorite things we hosted a backyard outdoor/camping themed party to celebrate our boy turning two!
We decorated with lanterns, wildflowers, buffalo plaid and grizzly bears. We ate Rudy’s BBQ for lunch, and munched on S’mores cups and a funfetti birthday cake for dessert. He kept referring to his cake as his “big pink cake” and days after the party he was still asking to eat “big pink cake” for breakfast. The grizzly bear cake topper was his absolute favorite. One month later, it’s still sitting on our mantel because Chief insists that his party bear stays in the living room.
Chief had so many family and friends come and love on him for his birthday. Family from New Mexico, family from Chelsea, extended family from Florida and Boston and all his favorites from Norman came to see him. He especially loved chasing his Uncle Char-Dog. He kept saying “Chief chase Char!” He would grab his tail and when Charlie was least expecting it Chief would lay a big fat kiss right on his snout.
When our guy faded, he faded fast. I mean…just look at these faces! He had a BIG day turning two.
He was so irritated I wouldn’t let him play with every gift he opened. Eventually he just laid on his un-opened gifts and wouldn’t let me open another package.
We couldn’t have imagined a more perfect way to celebrate our boy.
