This week has been a busy one. Catching up at work, finishing projects, catching up on sleep, and a lack of exercise. Terrible. I know. As much as I preach fitness, I have been slacking this week. I was able to sneak in a couple of classes Thursday and Friday, but haven’t had too much time for anything else. Except baking. Lots of baking.
Since I’ve been home, that’s all I’ve been doing with my spare time. First, I had to make The Carnivore “Thank you for driving to Dallas in the middle of the night to pick up me up from the airport” muffins. You can read about that fiasco here.
Blueberry Banana muffins (PRINT ME!), from one of my favorite bloggers Peanut Butter Runner. In these muffins, my meat eater doesn’t even mind the blueberries and bananas. #winning
I’ve also been busy working on birthday cakes for two of my littlest cousins.
Can we please talk about Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles making a comeback?! When Bryton told me he wanted a turtle cake I couldn’t believe he knew who they were. I was so excited to make these cakes!
For the turtle shell cake (or any cake you want round) – easy trick: bake it in a pyrex bowl! That’s how I always make my domed cakes.
I like to use a flower nail in the bowl as a heating core, spray it with baking spray, and fill it on up! Bake your cake per usual. Easy, easy.
I’m off to teach yoga, deliver my cakes, and see some family. Have a wonderful weekend!
