I’m still totally loving circuits. That’s all I want to do! The circuits I’ve been doing are total body, usually have a cardio element (or two), use enough weight that it is HARD to finish the reps, and they’re quick! I’m in and out of the gym in 30 minutes. They leave me in a sweaty puddle unlike anything else. That’s my kind of workout.
- 500m Row
- 3 rounds (30sec. each) – squats, push-ups, dips, lunges
- 2 rounds – (5) thrusters, (5) pike press
- 20 Thrusters (50#)
- 10 Dips
- 20 Push-ups
- 10 Handstand Push-ups
- 20 Mountain Climbers (each leg)
OH.MY.ARMS. It’s sad when mountain climbers are “rest.” It was bad. Really bad.
Ran 3.5 miles
This run took way longer than it should have. A puppy named Oliver started running with me and then I spent 20 minutes trying to figure out where he belonged. By the time we found his owner, there were 3 of us knocking on doors while waiting for the vet to call us back with an address.
Thanks for the break, Oliver.
20 min. AMRAP
- 10 jump squats
- 20 jump lunges
- 20 split squats 45#
- 10 straight leg deadlifts (45#)
- 20 walking lunges (45#)
5×5 front squats (95#)
My glutes were sore for days. It made for an interesting plane ride on Thursday.
Thursday – Travel Day
I had written Thursday off as a rest day, I was running around like mad trying to get ready for my flight to Denver. I was showered, dressed, bag packed…and then I started doing handstands. Handstands led to pull-ups, led to pistol squats. Before I knew it I was in the garage, sweaty, using the TRX and pull-up bar. I really have no idea what I did, but in 20 minutes I had undone an hour’s worth of primping. We’ll still call it a rest day.
Friday – Hotel gym workout
I got in a quick workout while waiting for my friends to wake up. The gym was in the basement of Union Station. Since I didn’t have much time, I did a quick body weight circuit and was back in the room in less than 30 minutes.
10 min uphill walking (6.5 incline)
- 5 burpees
- 10 pushups
- 10 sit ups
- 15 squats
We also got lost in Denver so LOTS of walking.
Walking around Denver, hiking at Red Rocks, and stairs…lots of stairs.
Altitude. Elevation. Colorado beer. Stairs. Not a good combination.
Sunday – Travel Day
