A cleaned up version of the oh so popular McDonald’s Shamrock Shake, start your day off right before an evening of pub crawls and corned beef and cabbage. With the addition of the protein powder and healthy fats from the avocado, this smoothie is sure to keep you satisfied throughout your St. Patty’s Day morning.
Green Shamrock Shake (Print Me!)
- 1 cup water/milk of choice
- 1 LARGE handful spinach
- 1/2 avocado
- (up to) 1/2 tsp. peppermint extract
- 1 scoop vanilla protein powder
Blend 1 cup liquid, spinach, and avocado until smooth. Add protein powder and peppermint extract, blend again. Depending on your protein powder, you might need less than 1/2 tsp peppermint. That stuff is potent! Maybe start with 1/4 tsp. and gradually increase as necessary. Add ice or additional liquid to reach desired consistency.
