Want to know what we did on the hottest day of the year? We went to the zoo, naturally.
I think it should be mandatory to take everyone’s picture when they enter the zoo and then again when they leave. Can you imagine? Everyone is so excited when they enter and BEAT when they leave. Red-faced, sweaty, usually with a souvenir cup in one hand, and melted cotton candy in the other.
My sister works for a commercial construction company based in Tulsa – FlintCo. Saturday was their annual family picnic day at the zoo, so Whitney asked The Carnivore and I to tag along as her family. I think it was 102 degrees when we arrived. The animals knew better, most of them were hiding or in their indoor cages. We didn’t see much, but we did see this Meerkat.
Meerkat mean muggin’.
I woke up early Sunday morning to prepare for a yoga class I was subbing. I planned my class over an omelette of eggs, black beans, spinach, mushrooms, onions, jalapeño, cumin, chili powder, garlic, and cilantro.
Yoga was awesome! I lead 25 yogi’s through squats, crow, squats, crow, and more squats. Really, we did lots of squats. Here was the final flow:
I spent my afternoon grocery shopping, blogging, and prepping a chicken to grill. Have you ever grilled a whole chicken? It was my first time to butterfly a chicken, I was pretty proud of myself.
A fun weekend, but am I the only crazy that looks forward to Monday?!
